HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are pleased to congratulate John Sedivy,
4 Executive Director of Community Link, on the occasion of his
5 retirement after more than 35 years of dedicated service; and
 
6     WHEREAS, Under John Sedivy's direction, Community Link has
7 grown into an organization that has assisted thousands of
8 people with developmental disabilities and has provided
9 critical services to more than 5,000 at-risk infants and
10 adults; the facility has grown immensely, from 6 staff members
11 and 27 developmentally disabled people to 130 staff members and
12 more than 400 developmentally disabled people today, with
13 significant expansion into Belleville planned for the future;
14 and
 
15     WHEREAS, Due to John Sedivy's leadership, Community Link
16 was rated in the top 3 percent of all CARF (the Rehabilitation
17 Accreditation Commission) rated agencies in the United States
18 and Canada; his excellent guidance has enabled the organization
19 to provide many services for persons with developmental
20 disabilities through its 6 community living residences, its
21 in-home assistance program, case management, respite services,
22 developmental training, work training and job assistance, and
23 Early Childhood Intervention and Early Head Start programs; and

1     WHEREAS, John Sedivy was selected as the 2007 Executive of
2 the Year by the Illinois Association of Rehabilitation
3 Facilities at the September 2007 meeting in recognition of his
4 contributions to his community and society at large; and
 
5     WHEREAS, John Sedivy's dedication to his profession and
6 willingness to help those in need is worthy of the greatest
7 respect; therefore, be it
 
8     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
9 NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
10 congratulate John Sedivy on the occasion of his retirement and
11 wish him continued success and happiness in the future; and be
12 it further
 
13     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14 presented to John Sedivy as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
