HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are pleased to congratulate Bill Kesler on the
4 occasion of his retirement; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Bill Kesler is a graduate of Danville High School,
6 where he was a co-captain of the school's swim team and served
7 as a class officer; he graduated with a Juris Doctorate degree
8 in 1952 from the University of Illinois Law School; and
 
9     WHEREAS, Bill Kesler has had a long and distinguished
10 career in the legal profession; he served as Danville's city
11 attorney over a four-year period during the 1950's; in 1953, he
12 began working for the law firm of Kesler, Laury, Garman,
13 Brougher, Lietz, and Townsley, P.C., whose original members
14 included Bookwalter, Carter, Gunn, and Hickman; he was made a
15 partner in the firm in 1961; his name was put at the head of the
16 partner list in 2001; he also serves as a certified public
17 accountant, a position that served him well for a career in
18 business law, where he daily handled real estate transactions,
19 wills, trusts and estate planning, and represented small family
20 businesses; and
 
21     WHEREAS, Bill Kesler has also been an active supporter of
22 many local boards and organizations, including the Lakeview

1 Foundation, the Danville Symphony Foundation, and the Danville
2 Family YMCA; he is a member of the Springhill Cemetery Board,
3 the Danville Rotary, and the St. James United Methodist Church;
4 and
 
5     WHEREAS, Bill Kesler plans to spend his retirement
6 traveling with his wife of 25 years, Bev, spending more time
7 with his grown children and seven grandchildren, and perfecting
8 his golf game; therefore, be it
 
9     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
10 NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
11 congratulate Bill Kesler on the occasion of his retirement and
12 wish him many happy and healthy retirement years; and be it
13 further
 
14     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15 presented to Bill Kesler as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
