HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, On Saturday, April 28, 2007, Advocate Christ
3 Medical Center and Hope Children's Hospital, Oak Lawn, will be
4 hosting the Salute 2007 Gala at the Hilton Chicago Hotel at
5 which Pat Pappas, M.D. will be honored by the Advocate Christ
6 Medical Center and Hope Children's Hospital as a 2007
7 Outstanding Physician Leader for his exceptional
8 professionalism and contributions in his medical field; and
 
9     WHEREAS, Pat Pappas, M.D. graduated from the University of
10 Illinois School of Medicine; he interned and completed his
11 residency in General Surgery at McGaw Medical Center of
12 Northwestern University; Dr. Pappas also completed a residency
13 at Northwestern Memorial Hospital at Northwestern University
14 in Cardiothoracic Surgery; and
 
15     WHEREAS, Dr. Pappas has received many honors and awards
16 including several awards at Northwestern University: the A.A.
17 Goldsmith Award for Intern of the Year in 1984; the Harold L.
18 Method, M.D. Award for Outstanding Surgical Resident, 1988; and
19 Outstanding Surgical Resident, Teacher of the Year, 1988 and
20 1989; and
 
21     WHEREAS, Dr. Pappas also has held academic appointments at
22 the University of Illinois, Rush Medical College, and

1 Midwestern University; he is a member of the Chicago Medical
2 Society, Illinois State Medical Society, American Medical
3 Association, American College of Surgeons, Society of Thoracic
4 Surgeons, Chicago Surgical Society, and the American Society
5 for Artificial Internal Organs; and
 
6     WHEREAS, Dr. Pappas has been well published in his field
7 and has presented at national and regional conferences;
8 therefore, be it
 
9     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
10 NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
11 congratulate Pat Pappas, M.D., on being honored by the Advocate
12 Christ Medical Center and Hope Children's Hospital for his
13 exceptional professionalism and contributions in his medical
14 field; and be it further
 
15     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16 presented to Pat Pappas, M.D., as a symbol of our respect.
