HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives wish to congratulate the Tinley Park High
4 School Cheerleading Team on being named the Illinois High
5 School Association State Champions for 2007; and
 
6     WHEREAS, The team cheered for the Tinley Park football team
7 throughout the season, as well as the basketball team; and
 
8     WHEREAS, The team attended the Midwest Cheerfest at Carl
9 Sandburg High School on December 3, 2006 and placed first; on
10 January 21, 2007 they competed at the first ever SCC Conference
11 Cheerleading competition and placed second; and
 
12     WHEREAS, The Illinois High School Association sectionals
13 were held on January 27 and the team from Tinley Park qualified
14 for the State competition with their first place win; and
 
15     WHEREAS, The State competition was held in Bloomington on
16 February 2, 2007; the top 25 teams begin, and the top 10 are
17 asked to return a second day; Tinley Park took first place on
18 day one; and
 
19     WHEREAS, The team is coached by Coach Katherine Kowalcze,
20 Ashaunta McCormick, and Vikki Burkhardt; the school principal

2     WHEREAS, The members of the Cheerleading Team are Ashley
3 Gerber, Katelyn Kwasny, Amanda Murphy, Megan Piotrowski,
4 Courtney Wessman, Christina Cardenas, Jaclyn Christofilos,
5 Ashley Hendzell, Leslie Lapthorne, Brittany Sauerman, Laura
6 Theisinger, Kristina Bailey, Kristin Diddens, Alyssa Malchick,
7 Constance Mucha, and Samantha Mosqueda; therefore, be it
 
8     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
9 NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
10 congratulate the Tinley Park High School Cheerleading Team on
11 being named the Illinois High School Association State
12 Champions for 2007; and be it further
 
13     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14 presented to the Tinley Park High School Cheerleading Team as a
15 symbol of our esteem.
