35 ILCS 120/2-75 new











    Amends the Retailers' Occupation Tax Act. Provides that no tax is imposed under the Act upon the purchase of jet fuel by an Illinois-based commercial airline from August 1, 2008 through August 31, 2008. Effective immediately.

    AN ACT concerning revenue.

    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

represented in the General Assembly:

    Section 5. The Retailers' Occupation Tax Act is amended  by 
5
adding Section 2-75 as follows:

    (35 ILCS 120/2-75  new)
7
    Sec. 2-75. Tax holiday.  No tax is imposed under this Act 
8
upon persons engaged in the business of selling jet fuel to 
9
Illinois-based commercial airlines from August 1, 2008 through 
10
August 31, 2008.

    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon 
12
becoming law.
