AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 5912

2     AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 5912 on page 3, by
3 replacing lines 19 through 22 with the following:
4     "(f) The corporate authorities of a municipality may adopt
5 ordinances or resolutions allowing all-terrain vehicles to be
6 operated on roadways under their jurisdiction, subject to the
7 following restrictions: (i) all-terrain vehicles may be
8 operated on roadways under this subsection (f) only by persons
9 holding a valid Illinois driver's license; and (ii) all-terrain
10 vehicles operated on roadways under this subsection (f) must be
11 equipped with brakes, a steering apparatus, tires, a rearview
12 mirror, a headlight that emits a white light visible from a
13 distance of 500 feet to the front, a tail lamp that emits a red
14 light visible from at least 100 feet from the rear, brake
15 lights, and turn signals. When operated on a roadway, an
16 all-terrain vehicle shall have its headlight and tail lamps
17 lighted as required by Section 12-201".
