AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 2392

2     AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 2392 by replacing
3 everything after the enacting clause with the following:
 
4     "Section 5. The Time Standardization Act is amended by
5 changing Section 1 as follows:
 
6     (5 ILCS 440/1)  (from Ch. 1, par. 3201)
7     Sec. 1. At two o'clock ante meridian of the second last
8 Sunday in March April of each year, the standard time in this
9 state shall be advanced one hour, and at two o'clock ante
10 meridian of the first last Sunday in November October of each
11 year the standard time in this state shall, by the retarding of
12 one hour, be made to coincide with the mean astronomical time
13 of the ninety degrees of longitude West from Greenwich, the
14 standard official time of which is described as United States
15 standard central time, so that between the second last Sunday
16 of March April at two o'clock ante meridian in each year and

1 the first last Sunday in November October at two o'clock ante
2 meridian in each year the standard time in this state shall be
3 one hour in advance of the United States standard central time:
4 Provided, however, that nothing in this act shall be so
5 construed as to be in contravention of any federal law or
6 authorized order of the Interstate Commerce Commission with
7 respect to the time zones of the United States. And in all
8 laws, statutes, orders, judgments, rules and regulations
9 relating to the time of performance of any act of any officer
10 or department of this state, or of any county, township, city
11 or town, municipal corporation, agency or instrumentality of
12 the state, or school district or school authority or relating
13 to the time in which any rights shall accrue or determine, or
14 within which any act shall or shall not be performed by any
15 person subject to the jurisdiction of the state, and in all the
16 public schools and in all institutions of the state, or of any
17 county, township, city or town, municipal corporation, agency
18 or instrumentality of the state or school district or school
19 authority, and in all contracts or choses in action made or to
20 be performed in the state, it shall be understood and intended
21 that the time shall be the time prescribed in this section.

23     Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
24 becoming law.".
