1     AN ACT concerning civil law.
 
2     Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
 
4     Section 5. The Adoption Act is amended by changing Section
5 4 as follows:
 
6     (750 ILCS 50/4)  (from Ch. 40, par. 1505)
7     Sec. 4. Jurisdiction and venue. An adoption proceeding may
8 be commenced in the the circuit court of the county in which
9 petitioners reside, or the county in which the person to be
10 adopted resides, or was born, or the county in which the
11 parents of such person reside, provided, however, if an agency
12 has acquired the custody and control of a child and such agency
13 is authorized to consent to the adoption of such child, the
14 proceeding may be commenced in any county, and provided further
15 that if a guardian of the person of such child has been
16 appointed by a court of competent jurisdiction, the proceeding
17 may be commenced in any county.
