SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

Amends "An Act making appropriations", Public Act 95-348. Restores a vetoed appropriation to the Department of Natural Resources for contributions to park districts and other entities as provided in the Illinois Horse Racing Act of 1975 and the Park District Aquarium and Museum Act. Effective immediately.

BALANCED BUDGET NOTE ACT MAY APPLY

    AN ACT concerning appropriations.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

    Section 5. "An Act making appropriations", Public Act 95-348, approved with items vetoed and reduced on August 23, 2007 and with items restored on October 11, 2007, is amended by changing Section 160 of Article 250 as follows:

    Sec. 160.  The amount of $3,000,000 0, or so much thereof as may be necessary, is appropriated from the General Revenue Fund to the Department of Natural Resources for contributions of funds to park districts and other entities, as provided by the “Illinois Horse Racing Act of 1975,” and to public museums and aquariums located in park districts, as provided by the Park District Aquarium and Museum Act “An Act concerning aquariums and museums in public parks” and the “Illinois Horse Racing Act of 1975” as now or hereafter amended.

Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon becoming law.
