SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of Carlan Hans of Edwardsville who passed
4 away on January 1, 2007; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Carlan J. Hans was born on March 20, 1927, to
6 Rudolph and Agnes (Hellrung) Hans in Worden; he married the
7 former Ann M. Brazier on June 19, 1948, at Our Lady Queen of
8 Peace Church in Bethalto; and
 
9     WHEREAS, Carlan Hans was an employee at Monsanto for 22
10 years, retiring in 1985 as an instrument engineer; he was a
11 member of the Knights of Columbus Council 1143 and a member of
12 the Instrument Society of America; and
 
13     WHEREAS, He served as a trustee at St. Boniface Church for
14 21 years from 1982 until 2003 and was a member of St. Vincent
15 DePaul Society at the church and the GlenEd Food Pantry; and
 
16     WHEREAS, Carlan Hans loved to travel and was an avid
17 fisherman, mushroom hunter, and gardener; he was a devoted
18 husband, father, and grandfather who loved his family and
19 church; and
 
20     WHEREAS, Carlan Hans is survived by his wife, Ann; his
21 daughters, Virginia Long and Jane Graham and her husband,
22 David; his sons and their wives, David and Diane Hans, Gerry
23 and Mary Hans, Allan and Kathy Hans, Donald Hans and his
24 special friend, Debra Davis, and Philip and Donna Hans; his
25 grandchildren, Margaret and Erin Long, Bridget Royer, Alison
26 and Brendan Graham, Matthew Hans, Michele Eudy, Samuel,
27 Danielle, Jacob and Jesica Hans, Jenifer Mason, Sarah and
28 Jeremy Hans; and his sister, Marie Richards; he was preceded in
29 death by his parents; a son, John Carlan Hans; and a brother,
30 Robert Hans; therefore, be it

1     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL
2 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
3 his family and friends, the passing of Carlan Hans; and be it
4 further
 
5     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
6 presented to the family of Carlan Hans, as an expression of our
7 sympathy.
