SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois
3 learned with regret of the death of Robert E. Peterson on June
4 8, 2006; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Robert E. Peterson was born on April 21, 1925, in
6 Halidayboro to Marion and Flora (Crawford) Peterson; he married
7 Barbara Jean Justice on April 18, 1949 in Carbondale; and
 
8     WHEREAS, Mr. Peterson proudly served his country in the
9 United States Army during World War II, under the command of
10 General George Patton; and
 
11     WHEREAS, Mr. Peterson worked for the United States Postal
12 Service for 31 years; he was a member and deacon of Goreville
13 First Baptist Church; and
 
14     WHEREAS, The passing of Robert E. Peterson has been deeply
15 felt by many, especially his wife of 57 years, Barbara; his
16 son, Larry (Terri Whitehead) Peterson; his daughter, Jean
17 Epperley; his grandsons, Mathew, Mark, and Michael Epperley;
18 his brother, Otis Peterson; and his several nieces and nephews;
19 and
 
20     WHEREAS, Robert E. Peterson was preceded in death by his
21 parents; his brothers, Harold, Albert, and Clyde Peterson; and
22 his sisters, Violet Jopplin and Reba Eaton; therefore, be it
 
23     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL
24 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
25 Robert E. Peterson, and we extend our sincere condolences to
26 his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
27 further
 
28     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
