SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois
3 learned with sadness of the death of Norma Jean Helleny on July
4 27, 2006; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Norma Jean Kircher was born to Paul and Callie
6 Kircher of Marion on February 11, 1924; she was married to
7 James Helleny, who preceded her in death; and
 
8     WHEREAS, Mrs. Helleny had a love for the game of bridge;
9 she was a life master in bridge and a bridge director; in
10 addition, she had a love for gardening and spent many summers
11 tending her flower gardens; and
 
12     WHEREAS, Mrs. Helleny was a member of First Presbyterian
13 Church in Herrin, and held a position of Sunday school
14 secretary; she belonged to several organizations, but her first
15 and most important job was raising her three children,
16 Jimmy-Joe, Jamie, and John; she instilled in them a sense of
17 caring and love for one another; her legacy will be carried on
18 through her children and grandchildren; and
 
19     WHEREAS, The passing of Norma Jean Helleny is deeply felt
20 by all who knew and loved her, especially her son, James and
21 wife, Cathy Helleny; her daughter, Jamie Bushong and husband,
22 Jim; and her son, John, and wife, Sharon Helleny; her nine
23 grandchildren, Peggy Snider and husband, Nick, Joey Helleny,
24 Katie Helleny, Andy Helleny, Allison Badgett, Paul Badgett,
25 Brandy Connor and husband, Sean, Sarah Heuring and husband,
26 Brad, and Kristen Helleny; her six great-grandchildren, Lily,
27 Kaylee, Braden, Jackson, Keegan, and Gracie; her sister, Wanda
28 Stanley; her niece, Jody Thurston and husband, George; her
29 nephew, Paul Stanley and wife; her three great-nieces; her
30 several great-great-nieces and nephews; her brothers and
31 sister-in-law, Taffie and E.J. Helleny, Charles Helleny, and Ed

1 Helleny; and her sister-in-law, Zella Helleny; she was preceded
2 in death by her parents, husband, brother-in-law, Louie
3 Helleny, and sisters-in-law, Sarah and Sharon Helleny;
4 therefore, be it
 
5     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL
6 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
7 Norma Jean Helleny, and we extend our sincere condolences to
8 her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
9 further
 
10     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11 presented to her family as an expression of our deepest
12 sympathy.
