SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to express
3 their sincere condolences to the family and friends of Petra
4 Maclas of Alton, who passed away on April 23, 2006; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Petra Maclas was born on September 1, 1929, in
6 Alton to the late Santurnino and Gavina (Trevino) Carmona; she
7 married Cecil Maclas on October 19, 1940; and
 
8     WHEREAS, Mrs. Maclas was a longtime member of St. Mary's
9 Catholic Church in Alton and the Alton Mexican Club; and
 
10     WHEREAS, She was known for her loving and caring nature;
11 she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to
12 many; and
 
13     WHEREAS, Mrs. Maclas is preceded in death by her beloved
14 husband of 52 years, Cecil Maclas; her parents, Santurnino and
15 Gavina Carmona; her brother, Rudy Carmona; her sister, Rachel
16 Carmona; and her great-grandson, Neal Yenne; and
 
17     WHEREAS, The passing of Petra Maclas will be felt by all
18 who knew and loved her, especially her sons and
19 daughters-in-law, Frank and Bridget Maclas and Cecil and Diana
20 Maclas; her daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Jim Seago and
21 Patty and Kevin Bergfeld; her grandchildren, Doug Maclas, Billy
22 Yenne, Jim Seago, Mike Berkley, Eric Dickerson, Mindy Seago,
23 and Kelli Dickerson; her five great-grandchildren; her
24 sisters, Delores Gross and Mary Stephenson; her brother, Ben
25 Carmona; and her other extended loved ones and many friends;
26 therefore, be it
 
27     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL
28 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
29 all who knew and loved her, the death of Petra Maclas; and be
