SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois
3 learned with regret of the death of Florence Baricevic, nee
4 Cronin, of Fairview Heights on Monday, March 6, 2006; and
 
5     WHEREAS, She was born on September 30, 1919, in East St.
6 Louis to Patrick J. and Ethel B., nee Waters, Cronin; and
 
7     WHEREAS, Ms. Baricevic was the secretary at Assumption High
8 School in East St. Louis from 1964 through 1978 and later was a
9 secretary for the Regional Superintendent of Schools; she was
10 elected to the Regional Board of School Trustees; and
 
11     WHEREAS, She was a member of the Caseyville Township
12 Democratic Club, past President of the St. Clair County
13 Democratic Women's Club, and former Democratic Precinct
14 Committee Person; she was past President of the Fairview
15 Heights Women's Club, a member of the Knights of Columbus 592
16 Ladies Auxiliary, and on the Advisory Board of the PSOP; and
 
17     WHEREAS, Ms. Baricevic was a founding member of St. Albert
18 the Great and Our Lady of the Assumption parishes and a member
19 of Holy Trinity Catholic Church; she was a member of St. Ann's
20 Altar Society at all three parishes and a member of the
21 Affiliates of Brothers of Mary; she was past State President of
22 the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians; and
 
23     WHEREAS, The passing of Florence Baricevic has been deeply
24 felt by many, especially her daughter, Sister John LaLande
25 "Mary Beth" Baricevic; her sons, Charles John (Marti)
26 Baricevic, Jr., and Dennis Patrick Baricevic; her
27 grandchildren, C.J. Baricevic, Christopher Lee Baricevic,
28 Brianne Rachel Baricevic, and Brice Robert Baricevic; her
29 sisters, Elizabeth "Betty" Martz and Marleen Kimutis; her
30 brother-in-law, George Gregurec; and her nieces, nephews,

1 cousins, and many friends; she was preceded in death by her
2 husband, Charles Baricevic, Sr.; her parents; and her brothers,
3 John Cronin, James Cronin, and Patrick Cronin; therefore, be it
 
4     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL
5 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
6 Florence Baricevic, and we extend our sincere condolences to
7 her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
8 further
 
9     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10 presented to her family as an expression of our deepest
11 sympathy.
