SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois
3 learned with regret of the death of Alan C. Hultman of Downers
4 Grove on Thursday, January 12, 2006; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Mr. Hultman was born in La Grange and grew up in
6 Downers Grove, attending Washington Elementary School and
7 Downers Grove Community High School; he valiantly served as a
8 member of the U.S. Army during World War II and obtained an
9 undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois and then
10 attended the University of Illinois law school, graduating in
11 1950; and
 
12     WHEREAS, He opened a law practice in Downers Grove and got
13 involved in professional and community activities, serving as
14 president and committee member of the Du Page County Bar
15 Association and also as a member of the Illinois State Bar
16 Association, the American Bar Association, the American
17 Judicature Society, a fellow of the Illinois Bar Foundation,
18 and as a commissioner of the Character and Fitness Committee of
19 the Illinois Supreme Court; and
 
20     WHEREAS, He was a member of the Downers Grove Chamber of
21 Commerce, Lions Club, the United Way, the Downers Grove Plan
22 Commission, and also was a member Citizens National Bank board
23 of directors; he was a lifelong member of First Congregational
24 Church; and
 
25     WHEREAS, He had a sense of duty and a sense of enjoying
26 life; he especially enjoyed golf and was a staunch Republican
27 and a great admirer of Abraham Lincoln; and
 
28     WHEREAS, The passing of Alan C. Hultman has been deeply
29 felt by many, especially his wife, Lucille; his children,
30 Leslie Ann Hollowed and Bradford Alan; his brothers, Kenneth

1 and Peter; and his two grandsons; therefore, be it
 
2     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL
3 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
4 Alan C. Hultman, and we extend our sincere condolences to his
5 family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
6 further
 
7     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
8 presented to his family as an expression of our deepest
9 sympathy.
