SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois
3 learned with regret of the death of Anton "Tony" Urbancic of
4 Waukegan on November 23, 2005; and
 
5     WHEREAS, He was born December 23, 1926, in North Chicago to
6 Anton and Maryan Urbancic; he was a lifelong resident of the
7 area; and
 
8     WHEREAS, Mr. Urbancic proudly served in the Army Air Force
9 from 1944 to 1946 as an aircraft and engine mechanic; upon
10 returning home, he began a career with the U.S. Steel
11 Corporation working as an avid machinist for 33 years; not
12 ready for retirement, he began careers in the same field at
13 Abbott Laboratories and Coleman Cable; Mr. Urbancic retired in
14 1990; and
 
15     WHEREAS, Mr. Urbancic was a member of the Knights of
16 Columbus, St. Mary's KSKJ Lodge, and the U.S. Steel Retiree's
17 Club; he will always be remembered for his friendly smile,
18 love, generosity, eagerness to help others, and ability to fix
19 or build anything; throughout his life, he loved to fish, golf,
20 and bowl, and especially to spend time with his loving family;
21 and
 
22     WHEREAS, The passing of Mr. Urbancic has been deeply felt
23 by many, especially his wife of 57 years, Margie (nee Zayber);
24 his children, Michael (Maryanne) Urbancic, Diane (Andrew)
25 Glavach, and Sharon (Chuck) Defilippis; his grandchildren,
26 Erin and Anthony Urbancic, Deana (Tony) Hendley, Kristina
27 Kovarsky, Jason (Sherrie), Jacob (Mary), and Justine
28 Defilippis; his step-granddaughter, Teri Glavach; his
29 great-grandchildren, Alysa, Arynn, MyKenzi, and MyKayla
30 Hendley; his nephew, Larry (Dee) Varsek; his niece, Mary (Bill)
31 Lathrop; and his many great nieces, nephews, and special

1 friends; he was preceded in death by his parents, Anton and
2 Maryan Urbancic, and his sister, Mary Miks; therefore, be it
 
3     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL
4 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
5 Anton Urbancic, and we extend our sincere condolences to his
6 family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
7 further
 
8     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9 presented to Mr. Urbancic's family as an expression of our
10 deepest sympathy.
