SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois
3 learned with sadness of the death of Fannie Mae Jarmon on
4 November 29, 2005; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Mrs. Jarmon was born January 28, 1938, to Ben and
6 Lucy Lee Hayes in Charleston, Mississippi; she attended
7 Locopish Church, where she sang in the choir and worked on the
8 Usher Board; after moving to Painesvilles, Ohio, she joined the
9 Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church and worked in the Choir and
10 Usher Board; she received her education at St. Clair Elementary
11 School, Harvey High School, NCR School, and Kennedy-King
12 College School of Nursing; and
 
13     WHEREAS, In 1955, she moved to Chicago and married Wilbert
14 Jarmon, Sr.; they were the parents of eleven children; and
 
15     WHEREAS, She was employed by the Sherman Hotel and the
16 Travel Lodge Hotel; she worked for the Chicago Public Schools
17 as a teacher's aide; she also worked as a food services
18 coordinator and an elevator operator; she loved and served her
19 community as a Board of Election Judge and Precinct Captain,
20 PTA Advisory Board Member, Floor Captain for CHA at the Robert
21 Taylor Homes, and community activist; and
 
22     WHEREAS, She joined Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church
23 and soon was affectionately called Mother Jarmon; at
24 Fellowship, she was involved in Sunday School Class Number 6,
25 Baptist Training Union/Nurture for Baptist, Mission, the
26 Beautifying Club, Intercessor Prayer Ministry, Handi-Capable
27 Ministry, Drama Guild, and Vacation Bible School; she was one
28 of the pioneers of the Fellowship's Greeters' Ministry; and
 
29     WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbert,
30 Sr.; her daughter, Kawanth; and her son, Theodore; and

1     WHEREAS, The passing of Fannie Mae Jarmon is felt by all
2 who knew and loved her, especially her children, Suncie,
3 Windell (Michelle), Wilbert, Jr., (Rita), Norma Luchia (Kim),
4 Kamaron (Winifred), Erick (Varmelle), Kelion, Ettaniye, and
5 Nicholas; her grandchildren, Ted, Jr., Erick, II, Tia, Crystal,
6 Marques, Jocelyn, Tierra, Constance, Candance, Kendall,
7 Shantel, Titus, Karmine, Kyle, Tabria, Christian, Dexter, and
8 Tyler; her great-grandchildren, Shamar, Dennis, Jr., and Kori;
9 her sisters, Alvester Johnson and Deloris Daniel; her brother,
10 Reverend Jesse Norwood, Sr.; her "play daughter", Renee Fluker;
11 a host of relatives and friends; and her extended family at
12 Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church; therefore, be it
 
13     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL
14 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
15 Fannie Mae Jarmon and extend our sincerest condolences to her
16 family, friends, and community; and be it further
 
17     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
18 presented to her family as an expression of our deepest
19 sympathy.
