SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois
3 learned with sadness of the death of Maurice J. Cicciarelli of
4 Peoria on November 3, 2005; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Mr. Cicciarelli was born November 3, 1933, in
6 Toluca, to Maurice and Helen Ippolito Cicciarelli; he married
7 Patricia A. Stull on May 25, 1957, in Peoria; and
 
8     WHEREAS, He was a 1955 graduate of the University of Notre
9 Dame, a peacetime Army veteran, serving from 1956 to 1958, and
10 a Sunday Morning League pitching legend; and
 
11     WHEREAS, Mr. Cicciarelli was the founder of The PIPCO
12 Companies, Ltd.; he was a successful businessman and a generous
13 philanthropist to many local and worldly charities; and
 
14     WHEREAS, He was past president of Peoria Notre Dame Club,
15 where he received the Man of the Year Award; he was also the
16 founder of the Peoria Notre Dame Youth Center; and
 
17     WHEREAS, He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic
18 Church and past president of St. Vincent de Paul Men's Club; he
19 was also a member of Mount Hawley Country Club; and
 
20     WHEREAS, He will be remembered as a loving family man and a
21 loving and giving person who touched many lives; and
 
22     WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his sister, Eleanor
23 Cicciarelli; and
 
24     WHEREAS, The passing of Maurice Cicciarelli is felt by all
25 who knew and loved him, especially his wife, Patricia; his
26 sons, Steve (Sally) Cicciarelli, Scott (Diana) Cicciarelli,
27 and Grey (Susie) Cicciarelli; his daughters, Lori (Victor)

1 Flores and Karen (Dan) Shadid; his 28 grandchildren; his
2 brother, James (Mary) Cicciarelli; and his sisters, Rosemary
3 Hills and Helene Flanagan; therefore, be it
 
4     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL
5 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
6 Maurice Cicciarelli and extend our most sincere condolences to
7 his family, friends, and community; and be it further
 
8     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9 presented to his family as an expression of our deepest
10 sympathy.
