SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois
3 learned with regret of the death of Richard F. Nogal of Orland
4 Park on Saturday, November 19, 2005; and
 
5     WHEREAS, After being raised in Chicago and living for a
6 while in Evergreen Park, Mr. Nogal and his family moved to
7 Orland Park in 1978; he soon became active with the Silver
8 Lakes West Homeowners Association and was then appointed to the
9 plan commission, later serving on the village board from 1983
10 to 1993; and
 
11     WHEREAS, He was on the village board during a key period in
12 the village's history; among the milestones during his time as
13 a trustee were the acquisition of land for Centennial Park and
14 pool, the construction of the village administration center,
15 and the implementation of a system that allowed village
16 residents to receive water from Lake Michigan; he served as
17 United Way Chapter President, Orland Park Lyons Club President,
18 Beverly Band Board Member, St. Michael Parish Ministry Council
19 Member, and was a member of the Knights of Columbus; and
 
20     WHEREAS, In 1992, Mr. Nogal served as acting mayor of
21 Orland Park; he remained active in public affairs in many ways,
22 including championing the construction of a new library, which
23 opened in 2004, and he was an ardent supporter of the Orland
24 Days village festival; and
 
25     WHEREAS, The passing of Richard F. Nogal has been deeply
26 felt by many, especially his wife, Mary Jane (nee Grevens); his
27 children, Richard J. (Kristine) Nogal, Garry R. (Deanna) Nogal,
28 and Alyce M. (Wade) Poziombka; and his grandchildren, Richard
29 K., Katherine B., and Hailey M.; he was the devoted son of the
30 late Casimir and Victoria Nogal; the dear brother of Ralph
31 (Dorothy) Nogal, Roger (Pamela) Nogal, and Marcia (Robert)

1 Coleman; and the uncle of many nieces and nephews; therefore,
2 be it
 
3     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL
4 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
5 Richard F. Nogal, and we extend our sincere condolences to his
6 family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
7 further
 
8     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9 presented to his family as an expression of our deepest
10 sympathy.
