SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois
3 learned with sadness of the death of Leroy J. Ducksworth of
4 Fairview Heights on August 13, 2005; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Mr. Ducksworth was born February 9, 1922, in East
6 St. Louis; he was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran and had
7 attained the rank of staff sergeant while in the service from
8 1942 to 1946; and
 
9     WHEREAS, He was a retired superintendent of East St. Louis
10 School District 189; he was also a former assistant principal
11 and principal of East St. Louis Senior High School; he had also
12 taught at Monroe Elementary School; and
 
13     WHEREAS, He was a member of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity,
14 Inc.; Southern Cross Masonic Lodge 112 Pricne Hall; Tyree
15 Consistory 64, Aahmes Temple 132; and Grand Inspector General;
16 and
 
17     WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents, William
18 and Annie L., nee Taggart, Ducksworth; and
 
19     WHEREAS, The passing of Leroy Ducksworth is felt by all who
20 knew and loved him, especially his nieces and nephews, Barbara
21 J. Good, Carolyn (Eddie Sr.) Cook, Janet M. (Alphonso Sr.)
22 Williams, Erickson L. (Carolyn) Ducksworth, Muriel (Michael
23 Sr.) Williams, Pamela L. Ducksworth, Denise D. Ducksworth,
24 Daryl Ducksworth, Doris J. (John) Watson, Karen C. Coleman,
25 Richard (Linda) Ducksworth, Ann M. Murray, and William
26 Ducksworth; and a host of great and great-great-nieces and
27 nephews, other relatives, and friends; therefore, be it
 
28     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL
29 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of

1 Leroy J. Ducksworth and extend our sincerest condolences to his
2 family, friends, and community; and be it further
 
3     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
4 presented to his family as an expression of our deepest
