SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois
3 learned with regret of the death of Janet Eisenberg of Waukegan
4 on Monday, April 25, 2005; and
 
5     WHEREAS, She was born in Waukegan, the youngest daughter of
6 Samuel and Dora (nee Siegle) Eisenberg of Eisenberg's
7 Department Store; her early education was in the Waukegan
8 School System, and she graduated from North School and Waukegan
9 Township High School; she was a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of
10 Northwestern University; and
 
11     WHEREAS, She was a teacher for many years, teaching in the
12 Waukegan School System and the Highland Park School System; she
13 was also a Professor of French at the University of Illinois,
14 Chicago Circle Campus; and
 
15     WHEREAS, Ms. Eisenberg had many hobbies; she was an
16 accomplished pianist and teacher of piano and a linguist, who
17 spoke several languages; after retirement, she spent her
18 winters in Paris, France, where she had many friends; she had
19 also traveled all over the world; and
 
20     WHEREAS, She was loved and will be deeply missed by all of
21 her family and friends, especially her sister, Rose Eisenberg
22 Richmon; her nieces and nephews, Judith Richmon Torrez, Dr.
23 Joel Samuel Richmon, Kathy Baum, James Baum, Deborah Eisenberg,
24 and David Eisenberg; her other nieces and nephews; and her
25 great-niece and great-nephew; she was preceded in death by her
26 parents; her sister, Sylvia Baum; and her brothers, Dr. George
27 Eisenberg and Julius Eisenberg; therefore, be it
 
28     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL
29 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
30 Janet Eisenberg, and we extend our sincere condolences to her

2 further
 
3     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
4 presented to her family as an expression of our deepest
5 sympathy.
