| SENATE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois |
3 |
| learned with regret of the death of Donald R. Grieves of Peoria |
4 |
| on Thursday, August 4, 2005; and
|
5 |
| WHEREAS, He was born on February 5, 1929, in Peoria to |
6 |
| George P. and Edna Curtis
Grieves; he married Valeria Pratt on |
7 |
| October 23, 1954, in Kickapoo; and
|
8 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Grieves valiantly served his country as a |
9 |
| member of the U.S. Navy during World War II; he was a member of |
10 |
| the American Legion, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the Navy |
11 |
| Club; and
|
12 |
| WHEREAS, A sales engineer at Reliance Electric for 25 |
13 |
| years, he retired in 199l; he served on the Peoria County Board |
14 |
| of Review and was a member of the St. Patrick's Society; and
|
15 |
| WHEREAS, He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, |
16 |
| Knights of Columbus 427 Third Degree Spalding Council, and 206 |
17 |
| Fourth Degree Spalding Assembly; and
|
18 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Donald R. Grieves has been deeply |
19 |
| felt by many, especially his wife, Valeria; his sons, Timothy |
20 |
| (and Deb),
Christopher (and Bonnie), and Danny (and Kim); his |
21 |
| daughters, Cheryl (and Bob) Ducharme, Kathleen (and Earl) |
22 |
| Harvill, and Joanie (and Ben) Manibog; and his 20 |
23 |
| grandchildren;
he was preceded in death by two brothers; |
24 |
| therefore, be it

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL |

| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
27 |
| Donald R. Grieves, and we extend our sincere condolences to his |
28 |
| family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it |
