SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois
3 learned with sadness of the death of Richard Ray Jackson, Sr.
4 of East St. Louis on July 8, 2005; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Mr. Jackson was born November 6, 1933, in East St.
6 Louis, to Mildred Harriet Ray and Andrew Lee Jackson; he
7 attended elementary and secondary schools in East St. Louis;
8 and
 
9     WHEREAS, He was a member of Truelight Baptist Church; he
10 loved his children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, and he
11 had a special bond with his sister, Snookie; and
 
12     WHEREAS, The passing of Richard Ray Jackson, Sr. is felt by
13 all who knew and loved him, especially his sons, Adrian,
14 Richard Jr., and Wesley (Adrian); his daughter, Vanessa Dale;
15 his seven grandchildren; his great-grandson; his sisters,
16 LaVondia Mae Neely (Snookie) and Delores (Lois) Garvin; his
17 five nieces and nephews; his twelve great-nieces and nephews;
18 his many cousins; his former mother and father-in-law, Fate and
19 Ruth Butler; his political friends, Lonzo Greenwood, Eddie Lee
20 Jackson, Charles Roy, and members of the Democratic Central
21 Committee; his special buddies, Elmer Jones and Sonny Maynard;
22 his forever friend, Leanna Lawrence; his good friend, Yvonne
23 Beasley; and citizens of Precinct #46; therefore, be it
 
24     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL
25 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
26 Richard Ray Jackson, Sr. and extend our sincerest condolences
27 to his family, friends, and community; and be it further
 
28     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
29 presented to his family as an expression of our deepest
30 sympathy.
