SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois
3 learned with sadness of the death of Lucille E. "Lucy"
4 Roderfeld of Alton on June 28, 2005; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Mrs. Roderfeld was born November 4, 1929, in Wood
6 River, the daughter of the late Anton and Mary Veronica
7 (Jankola) Pavelek; and
 
8     WHEREAS, She married Alvin "Slick" Roderfeld on October 22,
9 1949, at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Wood River; and
 
10     WHEREAS, Mrs. Roderfeld was a 1947 graduate of East
11 Alton-Wood River Senior High School; she was a longtime member
12 of St. Matthew's Catholic Church in Alton, a life-time member
13 of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Alton
14 Post 1308, and had served as a Democratic poll judge for nearly
15 40 years; and
 
16     WHEREAS, She will be remembered as a loving and devoted
17 wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many, who enjoyed
18 baking, cooking, playing cards, and dancing; and
 
19     WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her parents, her
20 grandson, J. Michael Means, her sisters, Helen and Anna
21 Pavelek, and her brothers, Anthony and John Pavelek; and
 
22     WHEREAS, The passing of Lucille "Lucy" Roderfeld is felt by
23 all who knew and loved her, especially her husband of 55 years,
24 Alvin; her son, Kenneth Roderfeld; her daughters and
25 sons-in-law, Patricia Means and husband James, Shirley
26 Roderfeld and Roger Motley, and Joyce Semmler and husband
27 Brian; her grandchildren, Jacquelyn Means, and Alicia,
28 Colleen, and Shawn Semmler; her step-grandchild, Roanna
29 Motley; her sisters and a brother-in-law, Frances Pavelek and

1 Mary Jo Steves and husband Norm; her brother, Steve Pavelek;
2 and her other extended family and many friends; therefore, be
3 it
 
4     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL
5 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
6 Lucille E. "Lucy" Roderfeld and extend our sincerest
7 condolences to her family, friends, and community; and be it
8 further
 
9     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10 presented to her family as an expression of our deepest
11 sympathy.
