SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois
3 learned with regret of the death of William Lee "Bill" Williams
4 of Alton on Tuesday, May 31, 2005; and
 
5     WHEREAS, He was born May 22, 1933, in Quarry Township in
6 Jersey County to William Christopher and Lola Mae (Schisler)
7 Williams; he was born and raised on the family farm and joined
8 the U.S. Army in 1951, serving in Germany during the Korean
9 War; and
 
10     WHEREAS, He married Sue Anne Henander on November 11, 1962;
11 after 36 years in the wire mill, he retired in 1991 from
12 Laclede Steel Co. in Alton; and
 
13     WHEREAS, Mr. Williams loved being outdoors; he enjoyed
14 fishing, fixing things around the house, going to auctions, and
15 working in his yard and garden; he was proud of the four Pride
16 awards he received in the last 10 years for his home and
17 garden; and
 
18     WHEREAS, He was a lifetime member of Veterans of Foreign
19 Wars Post 1308 in Alton, and he volunteered his time and energy
20 to his neighborhood helping with such projects as clean-ups,
21 National Night Out, and youth activities; he also volunteered
22 at the Community Hope Center; and
 
23     WHEREAS, His passing has been deeply felt by many,
24 especially his wife, Sue Anne; his sons, James Lee and his
25 wife, Diana, Williams and William Guy Williams; his
26 grandchildren, Michael and Pauline; his nieces; his nephew; and
27 his special friends, John and Laura Brunkhorst; he was preceded
28 in death by his parents and a brother and sister-in-law,
29 Phillip Eugene and Patricia (Hoekstra) Williams; therefore, be
30 it

1     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL
2 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
3 William Lee "Bill" Williams, and we extend our deepest sympathy
4 to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be
5 it further
 
6     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
7 presented to his family as an expression of our sincere
8 condolences.
