SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois
3 were grieved to learn of the death of Edward Pierre Paul
4 Czajkowski, formerly of North Chicago, on February 12, 2005;
5 and
 
6     WHEREAS, He was born on June 26, 1949; during the Vietnam
7 War, Mr. Czajkowski completed training in jet engine
8 mechanics-gas turbine unit maintenance, at Nellis Air Force
9 Base; he was among the last American soldiers to leave Vietnam,
10 where he served with the Special Forces; and
 
11     WHEREAS, He continued to use his expertise at Commonwealth
12 Edison and the Wisconsin Electric Power Company as plant
13 operator, control operator, and supervisor; he ultimately had
14 over 30 years experience in power plant operations; an expert
15 on boiler/turbine maintenance, he was qualified on every facet
16 of coal handling; and
 
17     WHEREAS, Mr. Czajkowski spent his last few years living and
18 working in Ohio where he was responsible for construction and
19 maintenance of communication stations and computer data
20 shelters for the state of Ohio MARCS Program; a skilled
21 craftsman who could take on nearly any job indoors or out, he
22 taught employees and friends the skills necessary to maintain
23 anything from power plants to private homes and cars; and
 
24     WHEREAS, His tastes ranged from classical music to the
25 western artist Remington; he enjoyed hunting and was an
26 accomplished cook; and
 
27     WHEREAS, The passing of Edward Pierre Paul Czajkowski has
28 been deeply felt by many, especially his father, Arthur J.
29 Czajkowski; his brother, Roy Czajkowski; his sister Martha
30 Mibeck; members of his mother's family residing in Ottawa,

1 Canada; and his children, Arthur, Michelle, Edward, Jason,
2 Sarah, and Jessica; therefore, be it
 
3     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL
4 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
5 Edward Pierre Paul Czajkowski, and we extend our deepest
6 sympathy to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
7 him; and be it further
 
8     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9 presented to his family as an expression of our sincere
10 condolences.
