SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois
3 learned with regret of the death of Katherine C. Crawford of
4 Maywood on Tuesday, January 25, 2005; and
 
5     WHEREAS, She was born in Greenwood, Mississippi, on
6 November 13, 1966, to Robert and Florene Crawford; she moved to
7 Chicago at the age of five with her mother and her brother; she
8 was raised by her mother and stepfather, William Donaldson; and
 
9     WHEREAS, Katherine graduated from Crane High School in
10 1985; she also attended cosmetology school in Oak Park; and
 
11     WHEREAS, She was baptized at the age of nine at Greater
12 Mount Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church, where she has been a
13 member since; upon joining the church, Katherine quickly became
14 a member of the youth choir, then moved into the young adult
15 choir; she was an active member in her church until she became
16 ill; she had been suffering with kidney failure for 13 years;
17 and
 
18     WHEREAS, The passing of Katherine C. Crawford has been
19 deeply felt by many, especially her parents, William and
20 Florene Donaldson; her brothers, William (Lillian) Goodin and
21 Jerome (Mary) Crawford; her sister, Sharon Crawford; her
22 special aunts, Lorraine Henderson, Gladys Everett, and Lisa
23 Jackson; her uncle, Tom Dansby; her special nieces, Chirtsie,
24 Jasmine, Shante, Tysheanna, and Ikea; her nephew, Lashon
25 Crawford; her cousins, Ronnie and Rodie, the Everett family,
26 Sonia Almore, Janis Almore, Jasmine Everett, Angela Almore,
27 Thelma Rouse, Michael Rouse, Tia Rouse, Mesha Rouse, Lora
28 Wallace, Willie Wallace, Marcus Wallace, Gregory Wallace, and
29 Joyce and Joseph Ash and family; her many other relatives and
30 friends; she was preceded in death by her grandparents,
31 Margarite Smith Dansby and Tom Dansby; her nephew, Jerome

1 Crawford Jr.; and her uncle, Homer Smith; therefore, be it
 
2     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL
3 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
4 Katherine C. Crawford, who was taken from this life at much too
5 young an age, and we extend our deepest sympathy to her family,
6 friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further
 
7     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
8 presented to her family as an expression of our sincerest
9 condolences during their time of bereavement.
