    Amends the Communicable Disease Prevention Act. Makes a technical change in a Section concerning the authority of the Department of Public Health to pay for health insurance coverage on behalf of HIV-infected persons.

1     AN ACT concerning health.
 
2     Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
 
4     Section 5. The Communicable Disease Prevention Act is
5 amended by changing Section 2d as follows:
 
6     (410 ILCS 315/2d)
7     Sec. 2d. The The Illinois Department of Public Health may
8 pay for health insurance coverage with funds appropriated for
9 this purpose on behalf of persons who are infected with the
10 human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and are eligible for
11 "continuation coverage" as provided by the federal
12 Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1985 or group
13 health insurance policies. The Illinois Department of Public
14 Health shall adopt rules to establish income eligibility
15 requirements for participation in this health insurance
16 coverage program. The Illinois Department of Public Health
17 shall also adopt rules and regulations to administer this
18 program that are in compliance with the requirements of the
19 federal Ryan White Comprehensive AIDS Resources Emergency Act
20 of 1990.
