SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
20 ILCS 105/2   from Ch. 23, par. 6102

    Amends the Illinois Act on the Aging. Provides that a purpose of the Act is to insure participation by the aging population (now, the aging) in the planning and operation of all phases of the system.

1     AN ACT concerning state government.
 
2     Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
 
4     Section 5. The Illinois Act on the Aging is amended by
5 changing Section 2 as follows:
 
6     (20 ILCS 105/2)  (from Ch. 23, par. 6102)
7     Sec. 2.
8     The ability of the constantly increasing number of aged in
9 the State to maintain self-sufficiency and personal well-being
10 with the dignity to which their years of labor entitle them and
11 to realize their maximum potential as creative and productive
12 individuals are matters of profound import and concern for all
13 of the people of this State.
14     The purposes of this Act are to provide a comprehensive and
15 coordinated service system for the State's aging population,
16 giving high priority to those persons in greatest need; to
17 conduct studies and research into the needs and problems of the
18 aging; and to insure participation by the aging population in
19 the planning and operation of all phases of the system.
