HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The Somonauk High School Boys Soccer Team recently
3 ended their season with a 22-3-1 record and second place finish
4 in the IHSA Class A State Tournament against defending State
5 champion Waterloo/Gibault; and
 
6     WHEREAS, This was the first appearance in a State
7 Tournament for Somonauk High School in 61 years; and
 
8     WHEREAS, The Bobcats earned their right to play in the
9 Title Match by shutting out four teams in the State Tournament,
10 including a 1-0 victory over Rochester in the semi-finals; and
 
11     WHEREAS, Tournament officials called Somonauk fans and
12 team members a "class act" for their spirit, play, and conduct;
13 and
 
14     WHEREAS, The Somonauk community, Superintendent Dr. Susan
15 Workman, Principal Dave Mantzke, and Athletic Director Dave
16 Kennedy are proud of the Bobcats for their hard work and
17 dedication, and showed an outpouring of fan support throughout
18 the season; and
 
19     WHEREAS, The Bobcats are led by Head Coach Dave Erasmus,
20 Assistant Coaches Mike Fauth and Flavio Santos, Trainer Chris
21 Laurent, and team captains, Chris Giesholt, Josh Rivera, Andy
22 Skupien, and Chris Erasmus; and
 
23     WHEREAS, The members of the Bobcats roster are Ben Bright,
24 Nathan Rogers, Shayne Peterson, Chris Erasmus, Chris Siegler,
25 Mark Skupien, Nick Erasmus, Chris Nielsen, Tyler Fugarino,
26 Chris Giesholt, Mitch Bunkofske, Josh Rivera, Nathan Pyle, Matt
27 Houghtaylen, Andy Skupien, Steve Weismiller, Aaron Alvarez,
28 and Blaine Hash; therefore, be it

1     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
2 NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
3 we congratulate the Somonauk Bobcats on their great dedication,
4 sportsmanship, and accomplishments; and be it further
 
5     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
6 presented to the Somonauk community as a remembrance of the
7 2006 season and encouragement for next year.
