HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The institution of marriage is one of the
3 cornerstones upon which our society is built, and a marriage
4 that has achieved a notable longevity is truly a model for the
5 people of the State of Illinois; and
 
6     WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Mr. and Mrs. Ken
7 Mueller will celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of their
8 marriage; and
 
9     WHEREAS, Ken and Mary Lou Mueller were married at
10 Resurrection Parish on the West Side of Chicago on October 27,
11 1956; they honeymooned in the Poconos; and
 
12     WHEREAS, The Muellers lived on Laramie Avenue in Chicago
13 before moving to Glendale Heights in 1963; they attended St.
14 Matthew's Catholic Church where Ken served as an usher and
15 where Mary Lou served numerous posts, including membership on
16 the Parish Council, service as the school secretary, and worked
17 Bingo for 13 years; and
 
18     WHEREAS, Since 1999, the Muellers are enjoying their
19 retirement in Plainfield, Illinois; and
 
20     WHEREAS, Ken and Mary Lou Mueller are the proud parents of
21 daughters, Cathy and Cindy; and the proud grandparents of
22 Jackie, Becky, Nikki, Renee, Sean, and Jake; the Mueller's
23 first great-grandchild, Aiden Thomas, is due in October 2006;
24 and
 
25     WHEREAS, Family and friends will be celebrating the 50th
26 Wedding Anniversary of Ken and Mary Lou Mueller on November 3,
27 2006, where they will attend a Mass at St. Andrew the Apostle
28 Catholic Church in Romeoville, where the couple will renew
29 their vows; afterwards, a party at Club Carillon will be hosted

1 in their honor; and
 
2     WHEREAS, The respect for marriage reaches one of its
3 highest plateaus when a couple such as Ken and Mary Lou
4 celebrate their golden wedding anniversary; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Ken and Mary Lou stand as examples of the best of
6 our society, and their love and devotion to each other and to
7 their family and friends serve as a reminder to all that hard
8 work, dedication, and love can make a difference in today's
9 world; therefore, be it
 
10     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
11 NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
12 we congratulate Mr. and Mrs. Ken Mueller on the occasion of
13 their fiftieth wedding anniversary, and we commend them for
14 achieving a long and happy marriage, blessed with family and
15 rich in friendships; and be it further
 
16     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17 presented to them as an expression of our respect and esteem
18 and with our wishes for happiness and good health in the
19 future.
