HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the
3 State of Illinois are pleased to recognize the sixtieth
4 anniversary of the founding of First Bankers Trust Company; and
 
5     WHEREAS, First Bankers Trust Company was founded in 1946 as
6 Broadway National Bank; trust powers were awarded to the bank
7 in 1956, and in 1978, the bank name was changed to First
8 National Bank & Trust Company, N.A.; and
 
9     WHEREAS, After the founding of First Bankers Trustshares,
10 Inc., in 1988, First Bankers Trust Company, N.A., was
11 officially founded in 1989 under the original charter of
12 Broadway National Bank; the company has provided banking
13 services and products for 60 years to the communities of
14 Quincy, Carthage, Macomb, Mendon, Paloma, and Rushville; and
 
15     WHEREAS, The trust department has grown from managing small
16 personal trusts into a trust company with assets under
17 management and administration nearing $2 billion; First
18 Bankers Trust Services provides employee benefit services
19 nationwide with offices in Chicago, Philadelphia, Phoenix, and
20 Quincy; and
 
21     WHEREAS, First Bankers Trust Company provides quality
22 financial services to customers and clients through a
23 knowledgeable and professional staff, resulting in increased
24 shareholder value; throughout the years, the bank has gone from
25 8 staff members to 190; and
 
26     WHEREAS, In 1998 and 1999, the Chicago Sun-Times named the
27 bank as "Illinois Best Performing Bank"; therefore, be it
 
28     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
29 NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that

1 we recognize the milestone sixtieth anniversary of the founding
2 of First Bankers Trust Company, and we wish the business well
3 in the future; and be it further
 
4     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
5 presented to First Bankers Trust Company as an expression of
6 our respect.
