HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the
3 State of Illinois learned with sadness of the death of Arnita
4 Marie Robinson on Thursday, June 29, 2006; and
 
5     WHEREAS, She was born on March 20, 1916, in Alabama to
6 Isaiah and Dora Williams; she was the third child of eight
7 siblings, and she attended area schools in her hometown; and
 
8     WHEREAS, In 1931, she was united in holy matrimony to Ira
9 Robinson in Alabama; they were happily married for 37 years
10 before Ira preceded her in death on January 13, 1968; they were
11 blessed with thirteen children; and
 
12     WHEREAS, Mrs. Robinson attended Traveler's Rest Baptist
13 Church in Altheimer, Arkansas, for many years until she
14 relocated to Chicago in 1987, where she continued her Christian
15 fellowship at Greater Mount Tabor Missionary Baptist Church;
16 and
 
17     WHEREAS, Affectionately called "Aunt Rea", Mrs. Robinson
18 impacted the lives of countless people with her southern
19 hospitality and warm and gentle spirit; she had the unique
20 ability to memorize birthdays, names, and events; her greatest
21 passion was that of her children, grandchildren, and family;
22 and
 
23     WHEREAS, In addition to her husband, she was preceded in
24 death by her parents, Isaiah and Dora Williams; her eight
25 siblings; and her son, Excel Robinson; and
 
26     WHEREAS, The passing of Arnita Marie Robinson has been
27 deeply felt by many, especially her daughters, Erlean Robinson,
28 Maggie Sherrod (John 0.), Arnita Davis (Clint), Helen Wyatt,
29 Marie Lyons (James), and Alberteen Dukes (Willie C.); her sons,

1 Ira Robertson (Ethel B.), Ira Robinson, Willie Lee Robinson
2 (Billie), Leon Robinson (Helen), George Robinson, and Larry
3 Robinson (Anita); her nieces and great-nieces; her nephews and
4 great-nephews; her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and
5 great-great-grandchildren; her cousins; and her many other
6 relatives and friends; therefore, be it
 
7     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
8 NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
9 we mourn the passing of Arnita Marie Robinson, and we extend
10 our deepest sympathy to her family, her friends, and all who
11 knew and loved her; and be it further
 
12     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13 presented to her family as an expression of our sincerest
14 condolences.
