HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the
3 State of Illinois learned with sadness of the combat death in
4 Iraq of USMC Lance Corporal Jonathan Kyle Price of Woodlawn on
5 Friday, January 13, 2006; and
 
6     WHEREAS, He was assigned to the 2nd Marine Division, II
7 Expeditionary Force, based at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina; his
8 unit was designated as one of the most outstanding in the
9 Marine Expeditionary Forces because of the dangerous missions
10 it was assigned; and
 
11     WHEREAS, Lance Corporal Price was a 2004 graduate of
12 Woodlawn High School, where he was catcher on the baseball team
13 and a member of the golf team, student council, the Fellowship
14 of Christian Athletes, Library Club, Spanish Club, was active
15 in the drama department, and served as Homecoming master of
16 ceremonies during his senior year; he was a member of Boy Scout
17 Pack 102, attaining the organization's highest rank, Eagle
18 Scout; he was a member of the Heartland Young Marines and
19 Woodlawn Christian Church, where he enjoyed singing in the
20 choir; and
 
21     WHEREAS, He was a compassionate and strong man who relied
22 on his Christian faith to help him through difficult times; he
23 deeply believed in serving his country and was a true American
24 hero, well-respected in his hometown and known for his happy
25 attitude and desire to help others; and
 
26     WHEREAS, The passing of Lance Corporal Jonathan Kyle Price
27 is and will continue to be deeply felt by many, especially his
28 mother and stepfather, Cheryl and John Hunsell; his father,
29 David; his fiancee, Brea Tate; his soon-to-be-born daughter,
30 Madison; his sisters, Krystal (Price) Martin and Rachel
31 Hunsell; and his brother, John Hunsell; therefore, be it

1     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
2 NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
3 we mourn the passing of USMC Lance Corporal Jonathan Kyle
4 Price, and we extend our deepest sympathy to his family,
5 friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further
 
6     RESOLVED, That we honor the memory of Lance Corporal Price
7 and his willingness to serve our country, which led to him
8 making the ultimate sacrifice; and be it further
 
9     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10 presented to his family as an expression of our sincerest
11 condolences.
