HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The Illinois House of Representatives is pleased
3 to recognize achievements of the citizens of the State of
4 Illinois; and
 
5     WHEREAS, On October 29th, 2005, after a long weekend of
6 playing soccer, the Gibault Catholic High School boys varsity
7 soccer team, under the leadership of head coach, Jim Corsi, and
8 assistant coach, Chris Kazmierczak, earned the title of 2005
9 Illinois High School Association Class A Boys Soccer Champions;
10 and
 
11     WHEREAS, On Friday, the Gibault Catholic High School Hawks
12 defeated Monticello 4-0, with goals by Brett Row, Brandon
13 Weilgus, Drew Nobbe, and Cody Mudd; Saturday morning, the Hawks
14 defeated Wheaton Academy 2-1, with goals by Zach Bement and
15 Tyler Crawford; and
 
16     WHEREAS, The championship game was the longest
17 championship game in State tournament history; after 4
18 overtimes with neither team scoring, the game came down to
19 penalty kicks; the Hawks came out with a 5-4 victory after
20 Peter Ottolini, Tyler Beckerle, Drew Nobbe, Tyler Crawford, and
21 Jacob Conrad made their penalty kicks; and
 
22     WHEREAS, Members of the team who participated in the
23 championship game included Tyler Beckerle, Zack Bement, Kevin
24 Brady, Jacob Conrad, Tyler Crawford, Jake Edwards, Bryan
25 Kennedy, Mike Kentch, Nathan Kremmel, Ryan Mercer, Curtis
26 Mericle, Cody Mudd, Jeremy Neff, Drew Nobbe, Peter Ottolini,
27 Jacob Posey, Alex Rottler, Brett Row, Ty Schutt, Taylor Stumpf,
28 Brandon Wielgus, and Jake Wittenauer; therefore, be it
 
29     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
30 NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that

1 we congratulate the Gibault Catholic High School boys varsity
2 soccer team on winning the 2005 Illinois High School
3 Association Class A Soccer Championship; and be it further
 
4     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
5 presented to Gibault Catholic High School boys varsity soccer
6 team.
