HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, Many times, citizens answer the call of duty to
3 bring forth necessary legislation; often the work involved in
4 bringing forth legislation is time-consuming and such an
5 undertaking requires dedication to the cause that the
6 legislation addresses; and
 
7     WHEREAS, As a result of the tragic death of their son,
8 Matthew, Bob and Dee Brandt put in countless hours in the
9 preparation of the legislation that became House Bill 3648 (An
10 Act concerning driving offenses, which may be referred to as
11 Matt's Law) concerning the implied consent for alcohol and drug
12 testing of drivers involved in fatal accidents or serious
13 injury accidents and concerning the denial of probation to
14 drivers convicted of reckless or aggravated driving in excess
15 of 20 miles over the speed limit; therefore, be it
 
16     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
17 NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
18 we thank Bob and Dee Brandt for their hard work in bringing the
19 legislation that is House Bill 3648 to the attention of the
20 General Assembly, and we extend to them our most sincere
21 condolences for the death of their son, Matthew; and be it
22 further
 
23     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
24 presented to Mr. and Mrs. Brandt as an expression of our
25 deepest sympathy as well as with our respect and esteem for
26 their dedication to this legislation.
