HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, Patrick T. Grealish is retiring as Commissioner
3 for the Salt Creek Rural Park District; a recognition ceremony
4 will be held on May 10, 2005, to celebrate his 36 years of
5 dedicated service; and
 
6     WHEREAS, Mr. Grealish was elected Commissioner on April 16,
7 1969, and during his tenure, he dedicated his time and efforts
8 to providing the constituents of the district with quality
9 parks and programs; and
 
10     WHEREAS, His expertise in the construction field has been
11 extremely useful to his fellow commissioners and the district's
12 staff during construction projects, including the expansion of
13 the administration building at Rose Park, the development of
14 the Twin Lakes Recreation Area, the additions of the deck and
15 island waterfall, and during the recent construction of a new
16 and larger Twin Lakes clubhouse; and
 
17     WHEREAS, He played an instrumental role in working with the
18 Village of Palatine, the Metropolitan Water Reclamation
19 District, and the U.S. Department of Agriculture to form an
20 intergovernmental cooperative agreement to develop the Twin
21 Lakes Recreation Area into a popular regional park area that
22 also serves as flood relief for the residents of the Northwest
23 Suburbs of Chicago; and
 
24     WHEREAS, He also helped draft the bylaws for forming the
25 Northwest Special Recreation Association, a partnership of 16
26 northwest suburban park districts which provide leisure
27 opportunities for individuals with disabilities; and
 
28     WHEREAS, While maintaining safe and beautiful leisure
29 facilities, the main focus during his tenure was future
30 planning, always with an eye to future generations; and

1     WHEREAS, Mr. Grealish's professional service with the
2 Illinois Association of Park Districts includes six years as a
3 Board Member and six years on the Continuing Education
4 Committee; and
 
5     WHEREAS, His involvement with local organizations includes
6 19 years on the Palatine Amateur Football Association Board,
7 five years as President of the Palatine Amateur Football
8 Association, 12 years on the Palatine North Little League
9 Board, and two years as President of the Palatine North Little
10 League; therefore, be it
 
11     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
12 NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
13 we commend Patrick T. Grealish for his dedicated service to the
14 Salt Creek Rural Park District's constituents and wish him well
15 in his future endeavors; and be it further
 
16     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17 presented to Patrick T. Grealish as an expression of our
18 admiration and esteem.
