20 ILCS 605/605-407 new










    Amends the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity Law of the
Civil Administrative Code of Illinois. Requires the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity to establish and maintain a program to assist manufacturing businesses in the State identify new markets and to retool to create new products or improve existing products.

    AN ACT concerning State government.

    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

represented in the General Assembly:

    Section 5. The Department of Commerce and Economic 
5
Opportunity Law of the
Civil Administrative Code of Illinois is 
6
amended  by adding Section 605-407 as follows:

    (20 ILCS 605/605-407  new)
8
    Sec. 605-407. Manufacturing modernization and retooling 
9
program. The Department must establish and maintain a program 
10
to assist manufacturing businesses in the State identify new 
11
markets and to retool to create new products or improve 
12
existing products. In performing its duties under this Section, 
13
the Department may assist companies perform  market research, 
14
help companies find sources of funding for modernization and 
15
retooling projects, and provide training concerning 
16
modernization and retooling.
