SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois
3 learned with regret of the death in Iraq of Staff Sergeant
4 Michael Sutter, United States Army National Guard, of Tinley
5 Park on Friday, December 26, 2003; and
 
6     WHEREAS, Staff Sergeant Sutter was a member of the 745th
7 Explosive Ordinance Detachment of the Michigan Army National
8 Guard based at Camp Grayling, Michigan; he was deployed to Iraq
9 in October; and
 
10     WHEREAS, Staff Sergeant Sutter was a lifelong Tinley Park
11 resident; he attended Keller Elementary School and Grissom
12 Junior High School; in 1993, he graduated from Andrew High
13 School, where he played football and soccer and was a member of
14 the wrestling team; before his deployment, he studied law
15 enforcement at Moraine Valley Community College in Palos Hills;
16 and
 
17     WHEREAS, Staff Sergeant Sutter served eight years in the
18 United States Army before joining the National Guard; he
19 enjoyed leisure activities related to the military, such as
20 paintball; and
 
21     WHEREAS, The passing of Staff Sergeant Michael Sutter has
22 been deeply felt by many, especially his wife, Tina; his
23 parents, John and Judy Sutter; his brothers, John Sutter and
24 Steve Sutter; and his sister, Angie Sutter; therefore, be it
 
25     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL
26 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
27 Staff Sergeant Michael Sutter, United States National Guard,
28 and we extend our deepest sympathy to his friends, family, and
29 all who knew and loved him; and be it further

1     RESOLVED, That we honor the memory of Staff Sergeant
2 Michael Sutter and his willingness to serve our country, which
3 led to him making the ultimate sacrifice; and be it further
 
4     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
5 presented to the family of Staff Sergeant Michael Sutter as an
6 expression of our sincerest condolences.
