HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives were saddened to learn of the death of Thomas
4 R. Schober of Algonquin on Sunday, January 25, 2004; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Mr. Schober was born and raised in Bloomfield, New
6 Jersey; he graduated from Rutgers University in New Brunswick,
7 New Jersey; and
 
8     WHEREAS, Mr. Schober was a volunteer with the non-profit
9 educational group Junior Achievement from the time he was 16;
10 he met his wife, Jean, at a Junior Achievement conference, and
11 they were married in 1970; and
 
12     WHEREAS, Mr. Schober worked as a salesman in the cosmetics
13 and fragrance industry, a job that took the couple to
14 California, Ohio, and New Jersey, before they reached Algonquin
15 in the early 1980s; and
 
16     WHEREAS, Mr. Schober was appointed to Algonquin's Zoning
17 Board of Appeals, was a village trustee from 1989 to 1993, and
18 was Algonquin Township supervisor until 1997; he left his
19 township duties to become director of consumer services for the
20 Office of Banks and Real Estate, Community Services Division;
21 and
 
22     WHEREAS, Mr. Schober's first passion was his family; from
23 T-ball to college, he very rarely missed any of his children's
24 games; he was devoted to his children; and
 
25     WHEREAS, The passing of Thomas R. Schober has been deeply
26 felt by many, especially his wife, Jean; his children, Bryan
27 Thomas, Kevin Richard, and Debra Jean; his brothers, Charles
28 and Warren; and his two granddaughters, Gabriela Jean and
29 Makayla Sylvia; therefore, be it

1     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
2 NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
3 mourn the passing of Thomas R. Schober, and we extend our
4 deepest sympathy to his friends, family, and all who knew and
5 loved him; and be it further
 
6     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
7 presented to the family of Mr. Schober as an expression of our
8 sincerest condolences during their time of bereavement.
