SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Cristian Medrano, who passed away on
4April 12, 2024; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Cristian Medrano was born to Clarissa Dieppa and
6Sergio Medrano in Aurora on July 12, 1996; he graduated from
7Waubonsie Valley High School in 2014; he received his
8bachelor's degree from Aurora University; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Cristian Medrano joined the Aurora Fire
10Department in March 2024 and was assigned to Station 1,
11realizing his lifelong aspiration of serving as a firefighter;
12and
 
13    WHEREAS, Cristian Medrano was very interested in the
14culinary arts, particularly cooking and baking, earning him
15the proud title of being a "foodie"; he delighted in exploring
16eateries and coffee shops; he enjoyed golfing, playing board
17games, especially Monopoly, and traveling with his family,
18with especially favorite memories of trips to Colombia and
19Puerto Vallarta, Mexico; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Cristian Medrano loved spending time with his
21family above all else; and

1    WHEREAS, Cristian Medrano is survived by his parents; his
2sister, Alexis (Joshua) Vargas; his brother, Mykol (Selena)
3Dieppa; his longtime girlfriend, Savanah Zbinden; his nephew
4and godson, Thiago Vargas; his maternal grandparents, Rita
5Ramos and Alfonso (Socorro) Dieppa; his longtime best friends,
6Erick Cepeda and Michelle Yague; and several aunts, uncles,
7cousins, and friends; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10Cristian Medrano and extend our sincere condolences to his
11family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
12further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Cristian Medrano as an expression
15of our deepest sympathy.
