SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Edmond C. Goethals of East Moline, who
4passed away on April 1, 2024; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Edmond Goethals was born in Moline to George and
6Julia Verbeke Goethals on October 4, 1940; he served in the
7U.S. Air Force as a firefighter on an airbase in France; he
8married Linda Lamb in East Moline on July 10, 1965; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Edmond Goethals worked for John Deere Harvester
10for 40 years; he also maintained his barber license and
11enjoyed cutting hair for family; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Edmond Goethals was a member of United Auto
13Workers Local 865; he was an avid gardener, and his interests
14included Native American culture; he was proud of his custom
15designed teepee, with eagles representing his close family; he
16was a great provider for his family and a hard worker; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Edmond Goethals was preceded in death by his
18wife, Linda; his parents; and his son, Brian Goethals; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Edmond Goethals is survived by his daughter, Lisa
20Blair; his grandson, Jacob Blair; and his sisters, Dolores

2    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
3ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
4Edmond C. Goethals and extend our sincere condolences to his
5family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
6further
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
8presented to the family of Edmond Goethals as an expression of
9our deepest sympathy.
