SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of George Joseph Mushro Jr., who passed
4away on November 25, 2023; and
 
5    WHEREAS, George Mushro was born to George Joseph Mushro
6Sr. and Vera Ann (Attalla) Mushro in Joliet on June 6, 1943; he
7graduated from Lockport Township High School in 1961; and
 
8    WHEREAS, George Mushro worked as an independent insurance
9agent for Farmers Insurance; and
 
10    WHEREAS, George Mushro served as a trustee and clerk for
11the Lockport Township Government Board for over 35 years; and
 
12    WHEREAS, George Mushro was an active member in many civic
13organizations; he served as chairman of the Will County
14Democratic Central Committee and as a precinct committeemen
15and treasurer for the Lockport Township Democratic
16Organization Board; and
 
17    WHEREAS, George Mushro was a member of St. Cecilia's
18Catholic Church in Fort Myers, Florida and a lifelong member
19of the Loyal Order of the Moose; he was also an avid golfer;
20and

1    WHEREAS, George Mushro was a generous soul who always
2helped others; he will be remembered as a devoted husband, a
3wise and trusted father and grandfather, a supportive brother,
4and a compassionate friend; and
 
5    WHEREAS, George Mushro was preceded in death by his
6parents; and
 
7    WHEREAS, George Mushro is survived by his wife of 46
8years, Sharon (May) Mushro; his children, Jeffrey D. Mushro
9and Bartholomew J. (Carollyn) Mushro; his stepchildren,
10Kimberly D. Downs and Sandy L. Broadway; his grandchildren,
11Jared, Logan, Hayden, Blake, Nicolette, Chandler, Giselle,
12George, Kiersten, Ashley, Katie, and Amber; his
13great-grandchildren, James, Madison, Mason, Mackenzie, and
14Emberly; his siblings, Lois LaBarre, Carol (the late Kenneth)
15Almond, Russell (Judy) Mushro, Miriam (Jim) Abraham, and
16Denise (former spouse, the late Pat) Mushro Rumchak; and many
17nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
18    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
19ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
20George Joseph Mushro Jr. and extend our sincere condolences to
21his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
