SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of James Lee Adams, who passed away on
4September 27, 2023; and
 
5    WHEREAS, James Adams was born on December 31, 1952 and was
6raised with his brothers and grew up with a passion for
7construction and for entertaining; and
 
8    WHEREAS, James Adams worked in construction, finding joy
9in building and creating; with an unwavering commitment to
10excellence, he became well known in his community for his
11exceptional work and made a significant impact on countless
12projects throughout his career, underselling his services well
13below market value because his primary goal was to help his
14community; and
 
15    WHEREAS, James Adams was a gifted gospel singer who used
16his soulful voice to touch hearts and uplift spirits; along
17with his beloved wife Karen, he traveled the globe via cruise
18ships and explored the wonders of the world; and
 
19    WHEREAS, James Adams cherished his family deeply and
20dedicated his time to creating strong bonds with his children
21and grandchildren, reveling in their accomplishments and

1providing support in times of need; his presence at family
2gatherings was always marked with a warm smile, a song on
3demand, and joyful laughter; and
 
4    WHEREAS, James Adams leaves a legacy of love, faith, and
5resilience; his life was a testament to the power of hard work,
6kindness, and gratitude; he had a true passion for life and
7provided an example of how to make a lasting impact on the
8world through giving; he will be remembered as a devoted
9husband, a loving father, a doting grandfather, a loyal
10friend, a master of construction, and a passionate gospel
11singer; and
 
12    WHEREAS, James Adams is survived by his wife of 27 years,
13Karen Adams; his children, James, Julius, Jennifer, Lisa,
14Monica, and Nicole; his grandson, Elijah; his 15
15grandchildren, his one great-grandchild; his brother, Ralph;
16and his nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
17    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
18ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
19James Lee Adams and extend our sincere condolences to his
20family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
21further
