SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Glenna D. Harris of Atwood, who passed
4away on May 15, 2023; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Glenna Harris was born to Gerald Arthur and
6Margaret E. Hall Butler in Rushville, Indiana on March 12,
71938; she attended Hammond Grade School and graduated from
8Atwood-Hammond High School in 1956; she graduated from the
9Burnham School of Nursing in 1959; she married Roger Harris in
10Hammond on August 8, 1959; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Glenna Harris worked as a registered nurse at the
12medical clinics of Dr. Gordon, Dr. Harry Messmore, and Dr.
13David Platzbecker for several years; she also worked as
14bookkeeper and manager of Harris Companies in Atwood; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Glenna Harris was a member of United Church of
16Atwood, the Order of the Eastern Star, and the 16 High Card
17Club; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Glenna Harris enjoyed reading; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Glenna Harris was preceded in death by her
20parents; and

1    WHEREAS, Glenna Harris is survived by her husband, Roger;
2her children, Scott (Mary Ellen) Harris, Stan (Jann) Harris,
3and Sandy (Rick) Fiala; her grandchildren, Beth (Cliff) Hines,
4Alex Harris, Elyse Harris, Emma Harris, Nicole (Levi) Adwell,
5Phil (Kelsie) Fiala, and JT (Brianna) Fiala; and her
6great-grandchildren, Skylar, Bella, Gideon, and Leo;
7therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10Glenna D. Harris and extend our sincere condolences to her
11family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
12further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Glenna Harris as an expression of
15our deepest sympathy.
