SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of John William Comerio of Springfield,
4who passed away on May 25, 2020; and
 
5    WHEREAS, John Comerio was born in Herrin to Mario Louis
6and Clara Lutostanski Comerio on May 23, 1942; he earned his
7bachelor's degree in 1965 and his master's degree in 1966 from
8the University of Illinois; he married Judith Ann Hilger in
9Champaign on December 26, 1966; he served as an artillery
10officer in the U. S. Army in Vietnam; and
 
11    WHEREAS, John Comerio was employed for nearly 30 years
12with the Illinois Department of Natural Resources, eventually
13serving as deputy director until his retirement in 1999; after
14retiring, he worked as the development director for the
15Illinois Association of Park Districts; and
 
16    WHEREAS, John Comerio was an strong supporter of therapy
17dogs, which he personally trained to provide comfort to people
18in nursing homes throughout Springfield; he was also an avid
19fan of the Chicago Cubs; and
 
20    WHEREAS, John Comerio was preceded in death by his
21parents; and

1    WHEREAS, At the time of his passing, John Comerio was
2survived by his wife, Judith; his son, Anthony "Tony"
3(Theresa) Comerio; his daughter, Carrie Comerio; his
4grandchildren, John "Jack" and Nicolas "Nico" Comerio and
5Gabrielle Casciato; his brother, Michael Gene (Cathy) Comerio;
6and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews; therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
9John William Comerio and extend our sincere condolences to his
10family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
11further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of John Comerio as an expression of our
14deepest sympathy.
