SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Glenn W. Feldman of Illinois City, who
4passed away on May 1, 2023; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Glenn Feldman was born to Walter William and
6Laura Dorothy (Dungan) Feldman in Muscatine, Iowa on June 12,
71944; he graduated from Rockridge High School in 1962 and from
8Iowa State University in 1967; immediately following
9graduation, he was drafted by the U.S. Army and completed
10Basic Training at Ft. Leonard Wood in 1967 and went on to
11complete Helicopter Maintenance Training; in the summer of
121968, he reported for duty with the SPC 1st Air Cavalry
13Division in Vietnam, where he performed maintenance on
14helicopters and flew 25 aerial missions in support of ground
15forces; after being wounded in an airstrike, he was awarded
16the Purple Heart and Air Medal for his meritorious
17participation in action and was honorably discharged; and
 
18    WHEREAS, After his military service, Glenn Feldman
19returned to the family farm in lower Rock Island County; he
20tended the land he loved, raising cattle and planting and
21harvesting crops; and
 
22    WHEREAS, Beyond field work and tending livestock, Glenn

1Feldman enjoyed taking care of the many cats that lived in his
2barn; he also enjoyed riding down the road in his truck,
3checking fields and chatting with neighbors and friends along
4the way, and spending time with his family, his lifelong
5friends, and his fraternity brothers; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Glenn Feldman was preceded in death by his
7parents and his brother, Keith Feldman; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Glenn Feldman is survived by his sisters, Marilyn
9Lafever, Janet Kistler, and Diane (Doug) Hessman; his nieces
10and nephews, Greg (Sue) Kistler, Marty (Jami) Kistler, Matt
11(Dee) Lafever, Jim (Briana) Lafever, Julie (Scott) Wagner, Joy
12(Shawn) Carter, and Jill (Marcus) Holler; and his several
13great-nieces and great-nephews; therefore, be it
 
14    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
15ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
16Glenn W. Feldman and extend our sincere condolences to his
17family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
18further
 
19    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
20presented to the family of Glenn Feldman as an expression of
21our deepest sympathy.
