SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Larry L. Weyhrich of Springfield, who
4passed away on February 13, 2023; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Larry Weyhrich was born to Walter and Ethel
6(Forsythe) Weyhrich in Springfield on August 24, 1948; he
7married Carol J. Humphrey on September 17, 1983; he received a
8master's degree in Library Science from the University of
9Illinois in Champaign-Urbana and a master's degree in
10Political Science from the University of Illinois at
11Springfield; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Larry Weyhrich retired from the Illinois State
13Library in 2012; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Larry Weyhrich gave tours of Abraham Lincoln's
15Home for many years and volunteered at the Abraham Lincoln
16Presidential Museum for 17 years; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Larry Weyhrich was a member of Peace Lutheran
18Church; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Larry loved reading books about history,
20especially Abraham Lincoln; he enjoyed farm life growing up

1and in his later years loved socializing over a glass of wine;
2he will be remembered as an intelligent and kindhearted man
3who always put his family before himself; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Larry Weyhrich was preceded in death by his
5parents; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Larry Weyhrich is survived by his wife; his two
7daughters, Joelle (Mark) Jones and Erica (Chuck) Cummings; his
8two grandchildren, Lydia and Raine Cummings; his granddog,
9Myles; and his grandcat, Lacey; therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
12Larry L. Weyhrich and extend our sincere condolences to his
13family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
14further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the family of Larry Weyhrich as an expression of
17our deepest sympathy.
