AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 808

2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 808 by replacing
3everything after the enacting clause with the following:
 
4    "Section 5. The Property Tax Code is amended by changing
5Section 18-184.15 as follows:
 
6    (35 ILCS 200/18-184.15)
7    Sec. 18-184.15. REV Illinois project facilities for
8electric vehicles, electric vehicle component parts, or
9electric vehicle power supply equipment; abatement.
10    (a) Any taxing district, upon a majority vote of its
11governing body, may, after determination of the assessed value
12as set forth in this Code, order the clerk of the appropriate
13municipality or county to abate, for a period not to exceed 30
14consecutive tax years, any portion of real property taxes
15otherwise levied or extended by the taxing district on a REV
16Illinois Project facility owned by an electric vehicle

1manufacturer, electric vehicle component parts manufacturer,
2renewable energy manufacturer, or an electric vehicle power
3supply manufacturer that is subject to an agreement with the
4Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity under Section
545 of the Reimagining Energy and Vehicles in Illinois Act,
6during the period of time such agreement is in effect as
7specified by the Department of Commerce and Economic
8Opportunity.
9    (b) Two or more taxing districts, upon a majority vote of
10each of their respective governing bodies, may agree to abate,
11for a period not to exceed 30 consecutive tax years, a portion
12of the real property taxes otherwise levied or extended by
13those taxing districts on a REV Illinois Project facility
14owned by an electric vehicle manufacturer, electric vehicle
15component parts manufacturer, renewable energy manufacturer,
16or electric vehicle power supply manufacturer that is subject
17to an agreement with the Department of Commerce and Economic
18Opportunity under Section 45 of the Reimagining Energy and
19Vehicles in Illinois Act. The agreement shall be filed with
20the county clerk who shall, for the period the agreement
21remains in effect, abate the portion of the real estate taxes
22levied or extended by those taxing districts as directed in
23the agreement. Any such agreement entered into by 2 or more
24taxing districts before the effective date of this amendatory
25Act of the 103rd General Assembly that is not inconsistent
26with the provisions of this subsection (b) is hereby declared

1valid and enforceable for the effective period of that
2agreement.
