HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Percy L.
4King III of Peoria, who passed away on July 1, 2024; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Percy King was born to Annie Ruth Carter and
6Percy King Jr. in Natchez, Mississippi on January 17, 1963; he
7attended Brookhaven High School in Brookhaven, Mississippi;
8and
 
9    WHEREAS, Percy King worked as a cement truck driver with
10Construction Materials and United Ready Mix for many years; he
11was also employed as a custodian with PCCEO Head Start until
12the time of his passing; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Percy King loved barbecuing, watching the Dallas
14Cowboys, traveling by Amtrak train, and spending time with his
15family and friends, especially his grandchildren; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Percy King never met a stranger, and he
17considered all he knew to be family; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Percy King was preceded in death by his parents;
19his son, Percy L. King IV; his brothers, Eric Morris and Ronald
20Furness; and his nephew, Robert Carter Jr.; and

1    WHEREAS, Percy King is survived by his wife, Stacey
2Johnson-King; his "pops", Eddie Thomas Williams Sr.; his
3daughters, Shekia and Rekia (Zachary); his sons, Johnathan,
4Bentavius (Danielle), and Stephon (Anayasha); his
5daughter-in-law, Callandra (Sue Sue) Neal; his brothers, Ricky
6(Denise) Carter, Robert Carter, Eddie Williams, Eddie (TeeSee)
7Thomas Williams III, and Brian Williams; his sisters, Cynthia
8(Diane) Porter-King, Stephanie Furness, Trumeka Clark, Keshia
9Williams, and Brandy Williams; 15 grandchildren; and a host of
10nieces, nephews, and other family members; therefore, be it
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
12HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
13we mourn the passing of Percy L. King III and extend our
14sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew
15and loved him; and be it further
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17presented to the family of Percy King as an expression of our
18deepest sympathy.
